The Action Research.Illinois (AR.I) Seed Grant Program encourages development of service learning courses that integrate interdisciplinary action research and public engagement with community partners in East Central Illinois. Here, we share events, resources, stories of success, and lessons learned! We invite you to see how we've evolved as a pillar of Action Research.

Ben's Bells glazing event at the Boneyard Arts Festival (Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve in Mahomet, IL)
ReplyDeleteAt the last meeting, Stacy Dymond shared information about Ben's Bells, the service-learning project our pre-service teachers enrolled in SPED 199/590SL and high school students in Champaign and Rantoul are collaborating on. We are expanding our community engagement by inviting the general public to take part in glazing ceramic pieces that will become a part of the Ben's Bells wind chimes.
I will have a table at Lake of The Woods Forest Preserve for glazing Ben's Bells beads on Sunday, April 22 from 1-5pm. See more information about the project at www.bensbells.org/.
Look for Boneyard Arts Festival signs at the Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve to find me.
